Snowmobile Expedition Across Spitsbergen

• Over 600 km of snowmobiling in an Arctic winter landscape
• Rides through valleys, mountain passes, and vast snowy plains
• Workshops and navigation training: maps, route planning, terrain orientation
• Glacier ascents with panoramic views of sharp mountain peaks
• Trips to Tempelfjord, Mohnbukta, Svea, and Passfjellbreen

We invite you on a unique expedition across Spitsbergen, taking place at the end of March using snowmobiles, with our base in the Arctic town of Longyearbyen. Snowmobiles will allow us to cover up to 200 km per day and reach the most remote corners of Spitsbergen. The second half of March offers very long days and solid ice cover, making it possible to carry out full-day excursions and reach otherwise inaccessible places. Accommodation in centrally located Longyearbyen enables us to set off each day in a different direction.

The aim of the trip is to explore the breathtaking Arctic environment of central Spitsbergen in winter. Snowmobile excursions will take place in varied terrain - from the largest glacial valleys and moraines, through glaciers flowing into the sea, to frozen fjords. In favorable weather and ice conditions, with an efficient group and observing safety rules, a traverse of Spitsbergen from the east to the west coast will be possible.

During each full-day expedition, in addition to snowmobiling, we will see ice caves, frozen waterfalls, canyons, and traditional Norwegian trappers’ huts. Experienced polar explorers and guides will help us observe Arctic wildlife: Arctic foxes, reindeer, walruses, polar bears, ptarmigans, snow buntings, and many others. Join the expedition across Spitsbergen!
